Accreditation What is it?
L&M earned Charter Accreditation from the AMC Institute
(formerly the International Association of Association Management Companies) in 2003. There are two AMC accreditations
available in the market today: the one sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the other
sponsored by the AMC Institute (AMCI). L&M evaluated both programs, and elected to attain the AMCi accreditation
because it provides a more rigorous measure of best practices as well as a higher assurance to the market of our
commitment to quality service. In addition, the AMCI requires an independent audit to verify business practice compliance,
thus making it the only truly independent accreditation in the market today.
On May 21, 2007 the leadership of the ASAE and AMCI announced joint support for
a single accreditation program based on the more rigorous AMCI program.
The ASAE program will sunset over the next three years; the AMCI program
will be the surviving program, maintaining the same high standards upon
which it was originally founded.
