L&M works with representatives of companies seeking to form an association to assist them in the formation of an entity that meets their common goals and objectives. L&M will also execute the steps necessary to bring the association to the point where it is ready to publicly solicit memberships. Specifically, we can: Clarify and work to create founders' goals Create interim entity for founders to execute formation Identify and develop membership benefits Develop membership and dues structure Create membership management tools and processes Establish accounting and financial vehicles Work with graphic artists to develop identity, logo, etc. In conjunction with legal counsel: Develop bylaws Incorporate and make compliance filings Develop anti-trust guidelines Secure trademark and other property rights Apply for tax exempt designation Develop license agreements L&M has helped launch a number of associations, including: the I2O Special Interest Group, the Appletalk Networking Forum, Component Integration Labs, the Key Recovery Alliance, the SchoolTone Alliance, NGIO (the predecessor of Infiniband), the Internet Business Services Initiative, and the RapidIO Trade Association.
